How time flies!

May 23, 2009 - Aiston turns 1!
WOW. We can't believe how time has flown. Aiston now has 6 and 1/2 teeth, and we think has 2 more on the way. Yikes! He is talking lots of jibberish, batting his eyes, dancing and climbing on everything! He loves his trucks and cars ...and rolls them along the floor and makes a "vrrrrrrr" noise -- as if it is second nature for a little boy to know what a car sounds like! He's not yet walking...but is quite the fast crawler. I'm in no hurry for him to walk, although I know it is right around the corner. That just means one more monumental moment that brings him closer to independence. And although at times that sounds nice in theory...I am not ready for my little boy to grow up and stop reaching for me to hold him and smile widely when I enter the room! It just doesn't get much better than that!

As Aiston becomes more mobile, social, and clever -- I wonder - how do people do it? Single parents, that is. I mean really, how have I not realized what an impossible feat it is to raise a child, let alone multiple, with the hands, brain, and emotional will-power of only one human being? On top of that - working full time outside the home!! Incredible. God bless all of you.

Eric and I went on a lovely trip to a friend’s wedding in Tampa 2 weekends ago...without Ace! (Courtesy of Lolli and Pop! A big shout-out to them!) It was a fun-filled weekend during which we may have relished in our freedom a little too much. I'd say given that circumstances though, we handled ourselves comparatively well. ;) It was also very strange/tough to be away from Ace for that long, and I missed him terribly! (Hence the phone calls every 30 minutes to my mom!) It was a "first" for the family, and overall I would say a success! Phew, one hurtle down and a million more to go!
